MISSION & HISTORY.
WWA began several years ago in the heart of founder, Divan Grobler. Through his experiences with lions, he has determined a way to help recover this vanishing royalty.
As the number of lions are decreasing and their habitats are disappearing in Africa, Wildlife Warriors Afrika will find solutions to ensure that these great Kings & Queens of Africa do not disappear.
Through collaboration and forming relationships with communities, we will be able to better protect the lions in Africa by creating corridors to help protect the remaining pockets of lion habitats and establishing new safe havens for lions, incorporating metapopulation to keep their genetics strong going into new areas. The genetics of lions are becoming less diverse and WWA will help to ensure that it doesn’t continue along that trend. As a result, we’ll still be able to see lions roaming in their natural environment in 50 years.
The lion is one of the crucial apex predators in the ecosystem and without lions, the ecosystem will collapse, and a domino effect will begin. Wildlife Warriors Afrika is a key part in keeping that first domino from falling.
